Although this has pretty much already made its way through the blogosphere, I thought I would drop a line here in case anyone missed it.
Microsoft has announced that CodePlex will shortly be adding support for Subversion! (Sort of, it's actually a bridge that will be available through Tortoise as I understand it...but hey, it's a start).
I've shared my feelings on CodePlex before so I'll spare you the full reiteration but I'll recap it briefly here: I think CodePlex is a great site with features that are hard to match, but I feel like TeamFoundation is its biggest downfall. Being a hardcore Subversion fan, I'm thrilled to see this happen. I'm actually in the process of getting ready for a new open source project but have been trying to decide where to host it. This may have just made the decision for me.
Finally, let me make a quick apology for being off the radar these past two weeks. I'm still in the process of settling into both a brand new
job and a brand new
house so it's been a bit hectic lately. Hopefully I should be back in the game next week!
