For anyone in the greater Pittsburgh area, I'll be speaking on Test Driven Development at the next Pittsburgh .NET Users Group on November 13th.  If you're in the neighborhood, then stop by and say hi!

I've included announcement below...

The next meeting for the Pittsburgh .NET User Group is on Tuesday, November 13, from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Read on for complete details.

Date: Tuesday, November 13

Venue: Microsoft, 30 Isabella Street

Agenda:

5:30 - 5:45 p.m. Registration & Developer Café
5:45 - 6:15 p.m.   .NET Coding Best Practices
Harold Barrett from CIBER will provide a look at real-world coding guidelines and best practices to improve your .NET development. Whether you are writing code, performing code reviews or testing and maintaining existing code, these techniques will help take your .NET coding expertise to the next level. Harold's presentation will discuss the Dispose pattern and the TryParse pattern while also looking at various tools to assist with producing quality code.
6:15 - 8 p.m. Test-Driven Development Using Mock Objects
Are you tired of writing bloated, fragile code that you can't maintain? Are you tired of spinning your wheels in a circle not sure what the next step in your product should be?  Then come hear Jeremy Jarrell from Matrix Solutions speak to the .NET User Group about Test Driven Development (TDD), one of the fastest growing development techniques in the software industry today.  An extremely powerful design tool, TDD can help you quickly determine the key features that your product will require, and will help you implement them in the fastest and simplest way possible. You'll develop only the code that you need, when you need it. So if you're ready to take your development skills to the next level, then come and learn how TDD can help you deliver the product that you've always wanted.

Please RSVP with your name, title and company to 412.918.4229 or events@pghtech.org so that we have an accurate count for dinner.

Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like more information.  See you there!
